Artist Reception

HALO is proud to be featuring Painter Marla Alison along with Jewelers Pat Pruitt and Cody Sanderson for Indian Market. We are sure more artists will be added to the roster as the event moves closer.  We will be having an artist opening Thursday March 3rd, 2011 from 6pm to 9pm.

Marla Allison is a contemporary painter from Laguna Pueblo, NM. She has been inspired from various art styles by works of Pablo Picasso, M.C. Escher, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Gustav Klimt, Yayoi Kusama, Jenny Holzer, and Hopi and Laguna Pueblo pottery designs.

"My work is the creation of aesthetically pleasing objects of adornment for the discerning individual with non-traditional materials and fabrication technique utilizing evolving technology, equipment, and software. My designs reflect an influence of a modern traditional lifestyle, both on and off the reservation."                                                       —Pat Pruitt

Cody uses both traditional and contemporary themes provide the inspiration to create truly unique pieces. He works primarily in sterling silver and 18-karat gold though he does sometimes enjoy working in aluminum, copper, stainless steel and 14-karat gold. He uses varied techniques such as casting, forging, fusing, repousse, and stamping. He is always working to create pieces that keep the eyes and imagination dancing.

Our open reception for all the artists, collectors, friends and guests attending the Heard Indian Market show 2011.
